Our paint department uses polyurethane and acrylic polyurethane paints to achieve our finishes. The typical paint brands used are Matthews Acrylic Polyurethane and Akzo Nobel Grip Gard and Grip Flex paints. The finishes are considered to be as hard and tough as baked enamel. The same type of paint finishes can be found on many European automobiles. This finish has a life expectancy of 15 to 20 years as stated by the manufacturers.
In matching colors we use the Pantone Matching System (PMS), Matthews Acrylic Paints, AKZO Nobel, and any other paint coating manufacturer. This allows any customer across the country to ask for a specific color by a PMS or other color number and be assured that the color we produce will match.
If a color number cannot be found and a specific color chip is supplied to us, we can send it to a lab, have it analyzed, and a formula will be provided to us so the color can be matched. This takes process approximately 7-10 days.
We have our own custom paint mixing processes in house which allows us to duplicate many architectural looks from blended metals to aged bronze and patina'd copper. You can see many of these applications as used on our theatre marquee section.
